Connect your GPSBip to the new Android smartphone with electronic ink screen

The YotaPhone (€120) has 2 screens: a classic colour screen, and an e-ink e-reader-style screen on the back.

Here it is connected to the GPSBip with XCTrack: the perfect combo for simple flight with display or advanced cross-country with livetrack.

And of course, the leGPSBip alone is still a stand-alone solar-powered GPS tracker that'll be with you on all your trekking flights!

  1. Wow, that's cool!
I was considering to get a small Kobo for this, but the Yota also looks very interesting, as I don't have a smartphone so far. I'll definitely check this out!

    1. Thanks Pit, the Yota is definitely an alternative to the Kobo: cheap and reliable with live tracking capability (with a simple extra SIM card).

  2. This is one of the best Mobilephone. Amazing technology is used in this smartphone. I am really impressed to see this innovative product. This is really cool.

  3. Hello,
Have you tested the autonomy of the yota phone when running xctrack?
And is it possible to charge the phone while using the bipbip using a USB splitter and an external battery?
    Thanks

    1. Yotaphone with internal GPS disabled (provided by leGPSBip) last about 12h flying.
Currently, with micro USB, there is no solution to charge and connect at the same time, but with USB-C it might change.
